The Assistant Chief of Defense forces for Mobilization and Disarmament Lieutenant General Johnson Olony has refuted the allegation of his defection to Sudan People’s Liberation Movement In Opposition (SPLM-IO).

Earlier this month, rumors circulated on the media that he had defected to SPLM-IO while in Malakal Town of Upper Nile State.

Speaking to the media, Lt-General Olony described the news as false and urged the public disregard it.

‘’As you have heard from social media that I have defected to SPLM-IO, I regard them as media rumors and I don’t go along with such. Because I am a liberator and a nationalist as you all know. I only see and stand where the truth is so, I don’t mind such rumors.’’Olony said.

On the clashes that happende in Nasir, Gen Olonystated that they had explained that SSPDF were not going for disarmament or any confrontation with the civilians or SPLM/A-IO forces in Nasir but to rotate SSPDF forces that over staged.

‘’This politics started here in Juba. I don’t fear and I always say the truth. This whole thing starts with DrRiek Machar and the SPLM-IO.’’ he claimed
‘’Those who fought are not the white army. Where did the white army get RPG and KPM from? You know I have been SPLM-OI member and rejoined the government- so it’s IO that fought with SSPDF in Nasir, they are not civilians. Frankly speaking it’s RiekMachar who attacked Salva Kiir in Nasir.’’ Olony continued.
