The office of the Governor of Central Equatoria State has dismissed claims suggesting that the governor is under pressure to relocate the state capital to Yei.
The Press Secretary in the office of the governor Waakhe Simon Wudu described the allegations circulating on media as false and inflammatory.
According to Wudu, the claims alleged that the relocation is aimed at facilitating land grabbing and illegal displacement of the indigenous communities in Juba.
He said the allegations further doctored that Governor Jadalla has been put into a difficult position over the issue, a claim he firmly rejected.
Wudu called on the public and the media to disregard the false allegations.
He said:”We urge the public, stakeholders and media to treat such narratives with the utmost discontent and to focus on facts, not fear mongering.”
He explained that the governor has never been involved in any engagement to change the location of State Capital.
“On behalf of the Governor, I wish to state unequivocally that these allegations are not true. They are baseless, misleading and politically motivated,” Wudu said.
” At no point has the Governor been involved in such engagement. He has not been sanctioned or endorsed any plan to relocate the State Capital neither has he been complicit in any scheme to alter the status of Juba for ulterior motives,”
He reaffirmed that Governor Jadalla remain committed to the principles of constitutionalism, peace, service delivery and inclusive governance.
He also stressed that Governor Jadalla continues to serve with integrity and remains dedicated to reserving unity and stability across the state.
