A 46-year-old man died in Aweil East County of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State after a swarm of bees stung him.
According to Kuol Akoon, an eyewitness on the ground, the incident occurred in Parot village at late evening hours.
Speaking to this outlet, Akoon revealed that the unfortunate incident occurred at the time people were returning to their houses.
He said that it is not the first time such an incident has happened; one also occurred last week where two were in serious critical condition after a similar bee attack.
“It was unfortunate the late was coming back from the market, and the bees attacked him. We found him just down, and we took him to the hospital, but he was already dead,” Akoon said.
“It is not the first time; some children were also attacked by bees last week and injured badly by the bees,” he added.
He called on the resident to remain cautious and ensure they protect themselves from such misfortunes.
Akoon expressed that despite being close to the place of incident, he could not since everyone was in hiding from the swarm of bees.
Based on the reports from the relative Mawien Geng, the man was returning from Wanyjok town market and unfortunately fell into a swarm of bees.
Geng revealed that the late man has three kids whom he was working hard in the market to meet their needs.
He expressed worries, as the widow and orphan will be subjected to suffering since the family breadwinner has gone.
In addition, Atem Thour, a beemaster who resides in Juba, urged the communities to stop routes near swarms of bees.
He called on the resident to seek shelter immediately after hearing the sound of the swarm to avoid being harmed.
