Members of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) have called on the youth to cease being used by the politicians in conflict.

The lawmaker’s calls came at the time the parties to the peace agreement faces challenges including confrontations between government forces, opposition and armed youth.

The Parliamentarians made the remarks during the one-day high-level dialogue that brought together MPs and youth.

While addressing a group of youth during advocacy event in Juba, Nuna Rhoda a Member Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) urged the young people to cease fighting for politicians.

She expressed that while the country continues to faces serious of conflict, youth became victims while the politicians gain power.

“You see there are series of fighting in some parts of the country, youth died and later the politicians we need to cease being use and stick to Agriculture and innovation that can benefited us and the country” she said

She appealed to the citizens to focus on peace and disown anyone who spread gospel of disunity.
The lawmaker emphasized on the need for youth to be peace ambassadors and hold continue with involvement in peace building processes.

“If we are to build the country, youth must cease being use in conflict as they are they majority but rather get involve in governance and peace building in the country” she said

Simon Malual Deng, a member of parliament stated that Unity of the youth in South Sudan is require in order to assure peace.

“We need to know our worthy someone cannot just come and say let us fight this war and we join, we need to be united for peace because when we accept peace as majority peace will come to the country” Malual said

He appealed to the youth to cease involvement in conflict adding that putting hands together in Agriculture will help in combating hunger.
James Kuol reiterated a similar call adding that continuous involvement in conflicts will continue to hinder peace and development.

Meanwhile, Ajak Atem Diing the Chairperson of Aspire Youth Connect called on the young people to avoid following politicians who uses division to gain power.

He appealed to the government to focus on youth empowerment in order to divert their attention from violent to Agriculture and innovation.

Atem urged the youth people to focus on innovative that develop their careers and as well as the wll being of the communities and country at large.
