Authorities in Pigi County of Jonglei State have reported the looting of therapeutic food intended for malnourished children from a storage facility belonging to the International Medical Corps.

Monykuer Lam Ayul, the Director for Information in the commissioner’s office, stated that the incident occurred on Wednesday at 11 PM.

According to Monykuer, the looters made away with 235 cartons of nutrition supplies.

‘’ Pigi is divided into two. There are areas controlled by IO and IG and the incident happened in the areas especially in Alela under IO. The population looted the nutrition supply from WFP which was to be distributed in the area before looting from IMC.’’ Monykuer said.

He added that the perpetrators remain at large, and county authorities have been unable to pursue them since the area is under SPLM-IO control.

Monykuer strongly condemned the attack on the humanitarian storage facility and called for an end to such acts.
