Central Equatoria State Governor has launched a clean campaign in Jebel residential area as part of keeping the City Clean.

Being the host state to Capital Juba, CES governor Augustino Jadalla launched a cleanup campaign aimed at tackling the mounting waste in some parts of Juba.

With help of the City council and the partners, the campaign started with garbage collection from one of the notorious and unregulated garbage site.

Governor Jadalla who took part in the cleanup initiative advised the citizen to cease random waste disposal.

He advised the residents as well as the traders to ensure follow the guideline from City Council on proper waste disposal.

The governor urged the public to cease dumping waste at the side already been clean by the City Council.

In his remark during the campaigns, Taban Emmanuel Baya, the Acting Central Equatoria State Minister ofInformation and Communication urged the Citizens to always dispose garbage in the designated areas.

He added that the cleanup initiative is part of the state government commitment to the city’s future, public health, and environmental sustainability.

“A clean city is a healthy city. Cleanliness is not a luxury—it is a necessity,” said Hon. Emmanuel.
“Hygiene directly affects our health, economy, and overall well-being” he added

He directed Juba City Council to deploy law enforcement officers to ensure strict adherence to waste management regulations.

“Businesses along major streets should also take responsibility. Shop owners should report and help apprehend individuals engaged in illegal dumping. The days of unchecked waste disposal are over,” he added  

H.W. Juma Moses Michael, the Deputy Mayor for Infrastructure and Environment, said the campaign is a community-driven initiative designed to foster collaboration among institutions, businesses, and residents to restore the city’s cleanliness.
