With hope to crackdown criminal activities as Christians celebrate Easter season, the Inspector General of Police (IGP)has laid out a strong security plans including deployment of police force.
Speaking to Journalists on Friday during deployment of police personnels to strategic areas, Gen. Abraham Manyuat Peter, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) reiterated commitment to ensure that the public celebrate with no worries.
He reiterated that the deployment of the police is meant to protect people and their property during Easter celebrations as most of the criminals take advantage of such days.
“During Easter, the believers leave their houses and go to Church as well as going for celebrations and here thieves and criminals will use this opportunity to steal,” Manyuat said
“They would want to use this opportunity to robbed women and traders in their shops.” he added.
Manyuat reiterated that some of the police personnel will be deployed in areas around suspected as hotspots.
The Inspector General further claimed that the police would be deployed at most location to ensure that the citizen and their property are protected.
“We need to warn people from criminal activities and urged the citizens and the public to cooperate with the police” he added.
Manyuat urged the police forces deployed to establish good relationship with the public as they celebrate their Easter Holidays.
“Work with civilians in good way, do not be rude this is the message I want to send to you” he said.
The IGP appealed to the police officers to remain discipline and take full responsibility in ensuring that the public is protected from all sort of criminal activities.

However, Gen Manyaut did not reveal the number of police deployed but cited that the number is enough to crackdown crimes during the Easter season.
Easter is one of the central holidays, or Holy Days, of Christianity. It Honors the Resurrection of Jesus three days after His death by crucifixion. For many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful conclusion to the Lenten season of devoted prayer, fasting, and penitence.
Recently the Inspector General of Police Gen. Abraham Manyuat said one of his key priorities while in office is transforming the police force into a professional and decent law enforcement.
He outlined that police officers must operate effectively, respond promptly to incidents, and utilize available resources to maintain law and order.
Gen. Manyuat also said he plans to promote ethical conduct, discipline, and respect for human rights within the police force to foster public trust and improve community relations.
He stressed that police officers should enhance their legal understanding to ensure they apply laws correctly and uphold justice in their duties.
