South Sudan President Salva Kiir emphasized on the Unity and Peacefully co-existence in his Eid al-Adha message.
“On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, i extend my warmest wishes to all Muslims in South Sudan and around the world. May this day bring peace, unity and renewed hope to our nation” Kiir said in a statement.
Eid al-Adha is one of the most significant festivals in the Muslim calendar, commemorating the Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham’s) willingness to sacrifice his son when commanded by God.
It is being massively celebrated in Saudi Arabia and several other Arab countries as well as other countries.
On separate message Central Equatoria state (CES) governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani appealed to the South Sudanese to draw spiration from the spirit of Eid to strength bonds as one people.
In his Eid al-Adha message Governor Jadalla emphasized on unity and giving helping hands to the vulnerable.

“At time when our state is working to consolidate durable peace, unity and stability, i urge all Citizens to draw inspiration from the sprit of Eid to strengthen our bonds as one people” Jadalla said.
“Let us extend a helping hand to the vulnerable, share with the needy and pray for continued progress and healing in our land” he added
While the country continues to face economic hardship, the governors call to help vulnerable remain inline with South Sudanese culture although threaten by the situation.
The governor urged the public to work toward peace and mutual respect for peaceful co-existence.
“As families and communities come together to share in prayers and charity let us also renew our collective commitment to peace, harmony and mutual respect” he said
Jadalla reiterated that the sacred festival should reminds the public of the values of faith, sacrifice, compassion and unity.
“It is time to reflect on prophet Ibrahim’s Obedience and devotion to the almighty, a timeless lesson in humility and trust in divine will” he emphasized.
South Sudan, which gained independence from Sudan, has remained a secular country that respects religious beliefs and values, as enshrined in its transitional constitution.
The Constitution prohibits religious discrimination and calls for the equal treatment of all faiths.

According to a circular issued by the Ministry of Labour on June 3rd, 2024, the Eid al-Adha holiday commenced on Friday, June 6th, and last up to Sunday 8th of which the work will officially resume on 9th, Monday
