The Head of Delegation of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) together with the Chairperson of Relief Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) have met the governor of central Equatoria state to discuss the situation of the people who have been displaced.

Thousands of people were displaced from Kajo-Keji County due to disputes between SSPDF and UPDF Forces at the border.

The disputes between the SSPDF and UPDF Forces that had happened in recent weeks led to displacement of many people from their homes.

Speaking to the media after the meeting with the Governor at the State Secretariat yesterday, the Head of Delegation of ICRC, Florence Gillette said that, the situation of the displaced people of Kajo-Keji that caused by the tension between South Sudan defense forces and Uganda defense forces needed to be addressed.

“We have shared with the governor the governor the handover of large scheme that ICRC build in Gumbo, Rajaf Payam that have been handed over to the government of central Equatoria State, hundred of people are now receiving clean drinking water,” Florence said.

Meanwhile the chairperson of Relief Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) Rose Lisok Paulino stated that, it’s not the first time the ICRC support the people of Central Equatoria, they have supported in various affected places, such as Lobong, Morobo and Terekeka County.

“Today specifically we come for Kajo-Keji people, we have a very alarming situation of our people who are affected, the internal displace people children, women, Elderly and people with disability,” Rose said.

She further noted that, on 28 of July 2025 there was tension that took place at 3pm by Ugandan Army.

“they have come to attack our people, and our Army as a result we a massive displacement of our people, as I am talking people are still defecated, they need a lot of support, we hope that with other counterpart we will be able to give them what we can,”.
