President Salva Kiir Mayardit hosted the Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Malik Agar Eyre on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between South Sudan and Sudan.
The talks held at State House J1 focused on enhancing economic and security cooperation between the two nations.
Following the meeting, South Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Monday Semaya Kumba, briefed the media, stating that the discussions centered on comprehensive economic relations according to statement from the office of the president on its social media page.
Meanwhile the visiting Sudanese delegation also provided an update to President Kiir on Sudan’s current security and economic environment, in addition to the broader regional peace and security context.
Minister Kumba reiterated South Sudan’s unwavering commitment to peaceful cooperation and common development.
“We assured our brothers and sisters in Sudan of Juba’s unwavering commitment to peaceful cooperation and common development,” he said.
In his remarks, the Sudanese Ambassador to South Sudan, IssamMohammed Hassan Karrar, highlighted his country’s dedication to further enhancing relations with Juba across all sectors.
