Government launches tree planting exercise in Warrap state

The government of Warrap state has launched 15,000 trees planting exercise in the state capital.

The plantation graced by the ambassador Bol Wek Agoth is being implemented by the state ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with Natural planters for Generations under the theme, “plant a tree, save life”.

Speaking during the launched, governor Wek urged the public to join the initiative to mitigate and face the realities of climate change.

He said, this exercise may boost commercial growth in the country with business benefits among the inhabitants.

He vowed to transform traditional farming into modern farming through aids and favorable governing policies.

Among the partners is Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) which has declared its continued support in areas of food security and climate change.

The state FAO representative Madam Rose emphasized on awareness to the community members about anticipated climate change.

The plantation is in conjunction with the national agenda aimed at planning at least hundred trees in South Sudan.

The Warrap state ministry of Agriculture envisioned to plan ten thousand trees in South Sudan allocated to it by the National government.
