A highly anticipated parliamentary session scheduled for today, Tuesday, has been postponed until further notice.
The meeting was intended for several key government ministers to present comprehensive reports on the territorial and boundary issues of South Sudan.
According to a notice from the Office of the Clerk to the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA), the postponement is due to the “unavailability of sufficient Reports.”
The notice to august house, signed by Clerk Makuc Makuc Ngong, was issued to all members of the TNLA leadership and Honorable Members.
The summoned ministers were originally expected to appear before the parliament today following an urgent motion tabled last week.
The session was meant to address pressing matters concerning the nation’s borders.
The officials who were scheduled to appear included include:Minister of Presidential Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Minister of National Security
Others are: Minister of Interior, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and the Minister of Land, Housing and Urban Development
Additionally, the chairpersons of the Joint Sudan–South Sudan Border Commission and the Joint Technical Committee were also summoned to provide reports.
Meanwhile a new date for the session has not yet been announced, as the adjournment looks indefinite.
