The Undersecretary at the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Mawien Bulabek, has issued a 10-day ultimatum to senior management to produce a comprehensive ministry structure and clear job descriptions for all employees.

The directive aims to address widespread issues of poor attendance and underperformance within the ministry.

During a meeting with directors, their deputies, and assistants on Friday, Undersecretary Bulabek emphasized that a lack of clear roles and accountability was hindering the ministry’s ability to function effectively.

“The Ministry will hardly deliver if it’s not clear who does what, answerable to who and when,” Bulabek stated, highlighting the urgency of the matter.

The meeting also brought to light significant structural deficiencies. Bulabek noted that some departments, such as the Department of Cinema, are severely understaffed and lack proper leadership.

The cinema department, for instance, operates with only a Deputy Director and no head to guide its activities.

The Undersecretary’s order is seen as a move to streamline operations and ensure all sectors of the ministry are properly resourced and accountable, paving the way for improved public service delivery.
