The death toll from recent attack in Abiemnom County of Ruweng Administrative Area (RRA) has risen to 36 from the previous an early count of 29.

On Wednesday, youth from Mayom County in Unity State attacked Abiemnom county of RAA leaving 27 dead with thousand displaced according to Hon. Chol Malith, RAA Information Minister.

Meanwhile James Lily Kuol the Commissioner of Mayom County self-confessed their youth involvement in the incident citing that they were acting on revenge.

The commissioner condemned the act adding that the government forces were sent to ensure that the confrontations are deescalated.

Addressing Journalists in Panrieng, Tiob de Monyluak the Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area (RAA) confirmed the numbers and condemned the act.

“Thirty-six people has been killed, the number of wounded as of this time is recorded to be 43 with different gunshots wound” Monyluak.

He expressed that most of the injured have been hospitalized in the neighbouring state of Warrap.

The Chief Administrator expressed worries that many people sustained gunshot and remain in critical condition.

The Chief Administrator expressed bot government of Unity state as well as RAA condemned the act of violent and remain in coordination to ensure such act is completely stopped.  

“The government of Unity state does condemn the action equally the way we do because we highly condemned this atrocity and this is unbecoming and it is inhuman” he said.

He appreciated the government of Warrap state for hosting the displaced persons from Abiemnom.
