The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has intensified resource mobilization efforts ahead of the December 2026 general elections.

The party officials called for financial contributions from its members to support its electoral activities.

Addressing the media, SPLM Secretary General Dr. Akol Paul Kordit said the Election Resource Mobilization Committee is focused on translating the party’s election strategies and operational guidelines into concrete activities at the grassroots level.

The committee, chaired by Cde. Lam Tungwar, brings together prominent members of the SPLM Business Cell, business leaders and figures from the private sector and public service.

Among the members involved in the initiative are Cde. Lado Lukak, Cde. Bibi Ali, Cde. Obac Olaw, Cde. Kur Ajing and Cde. Atong Manuet.

Speaking on the committee’s role, Cde. Lam Tungwar said the group was committed to mobilizing sufficient resources to support the SPLM’s preparations for the elections.

“As the mobilization committee for the SPLM, we are ready to mobilize enough resources as the country prepares for the upcoming elections,” Lam said.

He appealed to SPLM members across the country to continue making financial contributions to strengthen the party’s capacity.

“I appeal to all SPLM members to bring the little they have, as well as their party contributions. We shall continue to be strong if we continue to bring our hands together,” he said.

According to the committee, the mobilized resources will support a range of party activities, including internal democratic processes such as congresses and the National Convention.

Secretary General Dr. Akol Paul Kordit said the initiative is also intended to strengthen the party’s structures and prepare its membership for the upcoming elections.

He emphasized the importance of reaching communities at the grassroots and communicating the SPLM’s founding principles and ideals of liberation across the country.

The mobilization campaign is expected to extend across the party’s structures, from the national level to states, counties, payams and bomas, as the SPLM seeks to consolidate its organization ahead of the December 22 elections.

The committee said sustained resource mobilization, grassroots engagement and effective coordination would be critical to supporting the party’s campaign operations and strengthening its structures ahead of the polls.

With the elections approaching, the Election Resource Mobilization Committee is expected to continue coordinating fundraising and other support initiatives to ensure that the SPLM is adequately prepared for the electoral period.
