A group of South Sudanese Women Bloc have urged President Salva Kiir and First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar to dialogue and avoid collapse of the 2018 peace agreement.

The women bloc expressed that there is need for President Kiir and Dr. Machar to dialogue and order their forces across the country to cease confrontational tensions looming in the country.

The call followed some of report of the South Sudan people Defense Forces (SSPDF) clashing with the Sudan People Liberation Movement/ Army in Opposition (SPLA/M-IO) while the continuing to paly blame games.

Amer Manyok Deng, the Chairperson of Women Bloc on behalf of the women called on principals to dialogue and prevent the peace from collapsing.

“As we witness the alarming signs we appealed to the president and First Vice President so that they can come together sit down and order their forces joint to cease hostilities” Amer said

“We are witnessing alarming signs pointing towards a potential collapse of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS) 2018 and the roadmap” she added

She expressed that in all the confrontations between forces normal citizens, women and children continue die as well as displaced.
Amer urged the commanders of the forces to cease hostilities adding that war killed, displayed and destroyed.

She appealed to the parties to the peace agreement to prioritize dialogue rather than violent that destabilize the country and interrupt peoples lives.
Recently, the Executive Director of the Center for Peace and Advocacy (CPA), Ter Manyang Gatwech, called on President Salva Kiir and First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar to opt for dialogue and engage in face-to-face discussions rather than resorting to military solutions.

“As a human rights activist, I urge President Salva Kiir and First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar to choose dialogue and engage in face-to-face discussions rather than resorting to military solutions.

The relative peace we currently have in the country is better than nothing,” Manyang said.
Manyang said South Sudan cannot afford to return to full-scale war.
