On Sunday, the leadership of the South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association (SSFFA) met with the general assembly of clearing agents at Nesitu Checkpoint to discuss strategies for strengthening the nation’s freight industry.

The meeting focused on critical areas such as training for the Certificate in Customs and Logistics (CCL), preparations for the Global Logistics Convention (GLC), a constitutional review, and ongoing advocacy for industry reforms.

In a statement, Deng Daniel, SSFFA President, emphasized the significance of hosting the Global Logistics Convention 2026 in Juba.

He assured his counterparts continued cooperation to overcome obstacles hindering the industry’s growth.

Jacob Marial, SSFFA’s Deputy President, lauded the clearing agents’ dedication to reform advocacy.

However, Philip Yuang, SSFFA-Nesitu Coordinator, highlighted the challenges faced by clearing agents, including low commissions, limited representation in councils, and scarce capacity-building opportunities.

He pledged to work towards enhancing collaboration and building a more team-oriented service environment.

Other executives, including Deputy Finance Secretary Mr. Kuot Hassan and Achol Thon, were also present, reflecting the leadership’s united front in addressing industry priorities.

The meeting underscored SSFFA’s commitment to strengthening the freight sector in South Sudan through advocacy, capacity building, and international engagement, with the Global Logistics Convention 2026 set to be a landmark event for the country.
