The Ministry of Trade and Industry is throwing its full support behind a new national agro-food trade fair scheduled for January 2026.
The announcement came after a meeting, Tuesday between the Trade Minister, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk, and leaders from the Orient Group, the event’s organizers.
In a statement to the media, the ministry said the exhibition aims to provide a vital platform for South Sudanese farmers and producers to showcase their agricultural products.
Meanwhile Hon. Weighed in on the move saying the Ministry will be the major partner in this initiative, which is designed to be a truly national effort, bringing together participants from all 10 states and the three administrative areas of the country.
During the meeting, Minister Atong Kuol Manyang expressed strong approval for the plan, emphasizing its importance in advancing agricultural trade.
She noted that a focus on both trade and agriculture is fundamental to the nation’s economic prosperity.
The Minister further assured the Orient Group of her ministry’s full commitment to the event’s success.
The Orient Group presented detailed plans for the fair to a delegation from the ministry, including the Undersecretary, Hon. Ustaz Yel Luol, and several Directors General.
The collaborative effort is expected to boost local production and provide a much-needed venue for producers to connect with a wider market.
